About Us
The Sebeniecher Insurance Group has been serving the needs of individuals, families and businesses in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. areas since 1978. The group is headed up by Ritchie Sebeniecher and associate Ross Sebeniecher.
Ritchie Sebeniecher - Founder and CEO
Ritchie began his career focusing on employee benefits in 1970, working for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maryland. Later that decade he founded Sebeniecher Insurance where he brokers employer sponsored benefit plans, with an emphasis on group health insurance. He works closely with over 100 employers in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. providing advice on comprehensive approaches for employee benefit plans and their communication.
Ritchie received his B. S. degree in Administrative Science from the Johns Hopkins University in 1973. In 1983 he earned his designation as a Registered Health Underwriter, and in 1996 was awarded the Certification of Lifetime Membership by the NAHU in their Leading Producers Round Table. In 1988 Ritchie was appointed by the Maryland State Insurance Commissioner to sit on the committee for approving continued education courses, a position he held until 2003.
Ritchie is an avid runner, having participated in over a hundred races during the past 40 years, including the Boston and New York Marathons. He is a season ticket holder for both the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. Ritchie has been a civilian member of the Naval Academy Golf Association since 1983.
Ross Sebeniecher - Associate
Ross serves as an associate with the Sebeniecher Insurance Group, primarily focusing on employee benefits and insurance planning. Before joining the Sebeniecher Insurance Group in 2007, Ross worked as a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual and a group consulting representative with United Health Care.
As an employee benefits specialist Ross consults with a range of businesses, in scope and size, on various insurance products:
- Group health, disability, vision, life, 401k, and long term care
- Individual health coverage
In addition to group benefits Ross also focuses on more comprehensive areas of planning:
- Risk management strategies: life insurance, disability insurance and long term care planning
- Business continuation, retirement planning and wealth distribution
Ross is an Annapolis native and currently resides in Baltimore City. He graduated from Hampden Sydney College with a B. S. degree and majored in managerial economics.
